Transylvania’s Haunted Forest, Known as Romania’s ‘Bermuda Triangle’

The universe is full of mysteries that challenge our current knowledge. In "Beyond Science" Epoch Times collects stories about these strange phenomena to stimulate the imagination and open up previously undreamed of possibilities. Are they true? You decide.

When most people think of Transylvania, the first thought that comes to mind is Dracula. But, setting Vlad Tepes (the person considered the model for Dracula) aside, the area’s majestic yet notorious landscapes are home to perhaps the world’s most haunted forest.

The forest in question is the Hoia Baciu forest located outside the city of Cluj Napoca in the historical region of Transylvania, Romania.

The area first gained notoriety outside the region when in 1968 biologist Alexandru Sift who, while on a scientific expedition to the forest, snapped a photo of a disc shaped UFO. The photo fueled ufologist interest across the world.

However, the forest is known for much more than just UFO related phenomenon. It is known as the “Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania” among the ghost hunting community and among paranormal investigators, such as Dr. Adrian Patrut, president of the Romanian Society of Parapsychology.
“Some experts believe that we are dealing with a genuine Romanian ‘Bermuda Triangle.’ The area certainly can be certified as such, especially with the exceptional video and photos, along with testimonies of researchers who studied it for decades,” said Dr. Adrian Patrut in the show “Science and Knowledge (TVR Cluj), according to

Visitors to the area tell of intense feelings of anxiety. Moreover, some who have ventured off into the mysterious woods have emerged with unexplained rashes, scratches, burns, and other effects like migraines, nausea, vomiting, and even missing time.

To make matters more menacing, some of the forest trees are twisted and distorted misshapen like those depicted in old fairy tales. This landscape adds to the anxiety experienced by visitors as they enter.

In one particular area of the forest is a clearing were no trees grow. Some paranormal investigators believe this area to be especially high in activity.

Many locals believe the site is haunted and that if they enter, they will not return. In fact, according to legends of the area, the forest is named after a local shepherd who, along with his 200 sheep, disappeared.

Other legends include that spirits of murdered villagers have been trapped in the forest and are unable to move on. Visitors to the forest often hear disembodied voices and sometimes witness disembodied heads floating amid the trees.

Dr. Patrut has been studying the site since the 1970s, but unfortunately, no conclusions about the forest’s strange atmosphere have come to light.

In recent years the site has attracted tourists to the area seeking either ghostly encounters or spiritual experiences, according to the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures,” a show which did a short stint on the mystery forest (see video clip above).
Today even the legends remain buried in the shroud of campfire stories. However, the lasting impression of this forest seems to the consistency of the occurrences and the large amount of photographic evidence.

Scientists Speechless At What They Find Beneath Egypt!

For many generations, it has been questioned and debated. Many long hours and much time has been spent pouring over the evidence, yet with no clear answers and no hard proof.
However, today, more evidence keeps piling up that proves the ancients did have technology far beyond what we can even begin to imagine.
Brien Foerester takes you down dark tunnels, beneath pyramids, and inside places you have only seen in your imagination.

But now he goes even further and takes you beneath Egypt, where mysterious 100 ton stone boxes were discovered.  Some people believe they were used for burial purposes, but Brien clearly shows us how they were used for ancient ‘high’ technology.
Is it possible that the technology of the ancients was so advanced, it goes above and beyond ours today?
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 1:9,  “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”
Where we believe we have gone forward and advanced throughout history, is it possible we are actually far behind, and that someone else a long time ago knew all the secrets we have yet to uncover?
I can honestly say yes.  The fallen angels had the knowledge handed down to them by God, and they taught their children, the nephilim, and all of humanity the secrets of technology they had acquired.

Time and again, mankind has been stunned by the ancient megaliths, wondering how they could possibly have been erected by the humans of that time.  But the nephilim and raphaim were extremely intelligent, insanely strong, and quite frightful to look upon.  They were also giants!  This is exactly how it was that ancient megalithic structures were built.
Ancient technology is indeed a reality, and Brien shows you in the videos I have included below just how it could have happened.

Brien writes:
Inside a tunnel system carved out of the solid limestone bedrock in the desert of Egypt, more than 20 granite boxes made of precision shaped Aswan granite are a true enigma. Said by some to have been the burial places of prized bulls, their real function is far more intriguing. And they are clear examples of Lost Ancient High Technology created before the time of the Dynastic Egyptians.

PETALING JAYA: The promise of getting US$5mil (S$6.5mil) from the “netherworld” proved too good a deal to pass up for a 40-year-old businessman, who was duped into paying almost RM400,000 to secure a key to this “magical” world.

He was first lured by a con artist into buying a ring for RM2,000 in September, but ended up paying a total of RM393,500 (S$160,000) to perform a series of rituals in rented houses or hotels.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairuldin Saad said during the rituals, the victim was required to offer prayers and money to a “genie”.

“He purchased three suitcases to put in 519 bundles of paper resembling dollar bills.

“He then added real money into the mix as part of the ritual,” he added.

ACP Khairuldin said the victim had been paying the con man every month since September but lodged a police report early this month after not getting the promised money.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested a Georgian national in a recreational park in Pandan Indah at about 9pm last Friday.

ACP Khairuldin said the man admitted to scamming the business owner and led police to a premise in Taman Cahaya Indah where the three suitcases and ritual paraphernalia consisting of candle sticks and pieces of cloth were found.

Police also seized the man’s mobile phone.

The case has been classified as cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

In a separate incident, police nabbed a Congolese woman for conning an incapacitated man of RM10,000.
ACP Khairuldin said the woman approached the man, who is in his 30s, late last month in Ampang Point to introduce him to a gold investment scheme.

“She promised the man that he would get a 15 per cent to 20 per cent return on his investment in two weeks and he invested RM10,000 in the scheme,” he said.

ACP Khairuldin said the man, who lost his job as a ship welder due to chronic back pains, lodged a police report after realising he had been conned.

“We arrested the woman in her Taman Kosas residence at 10pm Monday.

“Her four-year-old daughter, who was in the house during the arrest, was handed over to the welfare department,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

Stunning Photos Of Mexico's 'Day Of The Dead' Record Attempt

Mexico celebrated the Day of the Dead with a new world record, as women in the country's capital dressed up as "Catrinas" and brought together the most "Skeleton Ladies" ever in one place.

The Skeleton Lady first appeared as a satirical engraving by artist Jose Guadalupe Posada sometime between 1910 and 1913. Posada originally created the character to poke fun at "people who pretended to be European, but weren't," Mercedes Sierra, a visual arts professor at Mexico's National Autonomous University explained to the Associated Press last year. "Skeleton" was a Mexican slang for someone too poor to buy food. However, the image was also a critique of social stratification. "Death is democratic. At the end, regardless of whether you are white, dark, rich or poor, we all end up as skeletons," the artist said at the time.

Hundreds of "Catrinas" showed up in the Mexican capital on Nov. 1.

Alleged Haunting & possible role played by EMF/InfrasoundPsychological

, , , , /by

Some people believed that they have experienced some type of ghostly phenomena.  These experiences include reports of apparitions, unusual odors, sudden changes in temperature and a sense of presence. In a small number of cases, witnesses consistently report these experiences in certain locations, giving rise to the notion that these places are “haunted”. Some alleged haunting last many years and involving large numbers of seemingly trustworthy witnesses. Scientific research in this area aims to discover why this is the case, including the possible role played by magnetic fields, infrasound, and various psychological factors.

Electro Magnetic Frequencies (EMF)

EMF does stand for electromotive force in electronics engineering (also known as voltage), but in the world of “ghost” hunting it is more recognized as an acronym for electromagnetic field. There are conjectures that EMF is correlated either with

(1) induced illusions of ghosts or
(2) the presence of actual spirits.

Ghosts cause EMF fields and need energy to manifest? Our question is what type of evidence is available to prove that a ghost causes or even raises an EMF field?

Like everything else in paranormal research, it’s open to debate. 98% of the time, EMF is caused by unshielded wiring or some other man-made source. However, when you encounter an EMF fluctuation with no apparent cause
(i.e., a higher reading outdoors, many meters away from the nearest power line or electrical outlet or no possible EMF at a particular venue) *in addition* to other activity (EVPs, anomalous photos, etc) or EMF in atmospheric effects.

EMF in atmospheric effects – Connections with water vapor, water molecules, atmosphere temperatures. As well as absorbing radiation, water vapor emits radiation in all directions. Much of this energy will be recaptured by other water molecules.

The water molecule, in the gaseous state, has three type of transition that can give rise to absorption of electromagnetic radiation. ie Rotational transitions, Vibrational transitions & Electronic transitions
The absorption of electromagnetic radiation by water depends on the state of water.

SPI also discovered the presence of EMF on our hands of sweaty palms.
In high doses EMF can be really unhealthy. They can make you see things that are not there, black spots, dizziness, nauseas, headaches, make you feel like you being watched, hallucinate….etc.

EMF Detectors

emf detectors

We are not Ghostbusters and we are only Investigators, the equipments only captured datas and not Ghost!

What do EMF meters measure? In day-to-day use, electromagnetic field (EMF) meters are used to diagnose problems with electrical wiring and power lines and to get readings on working appliances.
EMF meters detect fields emitted by moving electrically charged objects. Electromagnetic field theory lies at the combination of an electric field, produced by a charged object, and the magnetic field created when the charged object moves.

Electromagnetic fields are created using alternating current and direct current, but with different results. EMF meters measure fields produced by alternating current – the type of electricity surging through your microwaves and television. This current moves back and forth.

Infrasound, sometimes referred to as low-frequency sound, is sound that is lower in frequency than 20 Hz (Hertz) or cycles per second, the “normal” limit of human hearing.

Animals have been known to perceive the infrasonic waves going through the earth by natural disasters and can use these as an early warning. A recent example of this is the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Animals were reported to flee the area hours before the actual tsunami hit the shores of Asia. It is not known for sure if this is the exact reason, as some have suggested that it may have been the influence of electromagnetic waves, and not of infrasonic waves, that prompted these animals to flee.

“Frequency Sounds (Infrasound) can cause people to have unusual experiences even though they cannot consciously detect infrasound.” “Some scientists have suggested that this level of sound may be present at some allegedly haunted sites and so causes people to have odd sensations that they attribute to a ghost. Our findings support this ideas.”
Richard Wiseman (born 1966) is Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. His research has been published in leading academic journals, with one Scientific American columnist labelling him “…the most interesting and innovative experimental psychologist in the world today”. Wiseman is known for his critical examination and frequent debunking of unusual phenomena, including reports of paranormal phenomena.

“NORMALLY YOU can’t hear it,” Richard Lord, an acoustic scientist at the National Physical Laboratory in England.
Lord and his colleagues, who produced infrasound with a 23-foot (7-meter) pipe and tested its impact on 750 people at a concert, said infrasound is also generated by natural phenomena.

Reactions to Infrasound

Lord and Wiseman played four contemporary pieces of live music, including some laced with infrasound, at a London concert hall and asked the audience to describe their reactions to the music.
The audience did not know which pieces included infrasound, but 22 percent reported more unusual experiences when it was present in the music.

Their unusual experiences included feeling uneasy or sorrowful, getting chills down the spine or nervous feelings of revulsion or fear.

“These results suggest that low frequency sound can cause people to have unusual experiences even though they cannot consciously detect infrasound,” said Wiseman, who presented his findings to the British Association science conference.

Natural Phenomenon

Infrasound is also produced by storms, seasonal winds and weather patterns and some types of earthquakes. Animals such as elephants also use infrasound to communicate over long distances or as weapons to repel foes.

Psychological factors

Finally, some researchers believed that many of the experiences reported in allegedly haunted locations have a psychological explanation. For example, witnesses may have had prior knowledge about which parts of a building were ‘haunted’, and do become anxious when entering these areas, resulting in mild psychosomatic and hallucinatory phenomena. Alternatively, certain areas may simply ‘look’ haunted (i.e., be especially dark or creepy looking) and again cause people to feel anxious.

Power of Suggestions

Honestly the power of suggestion is probably the #1 reason people
both believe in the paranormal and don’t believe in the paranormal.

Beliefs Systems , Heard, Said, Cultural, Seen, Felt, Myths Happened in unexplainable situations, Judged too quickly, with faiths from religious masters or priest, Astrologers & Psychics etc, that goes through the conscious and subsonscious abilities.   You believe there is, there is.

Law of Heat transfer

law of heat transfer 2law of heat transfer 3

law of heat transfer 1

Unexplained and strange sounds may also occur due to the weather when its at night.  It can happen when it is cold or when there’s a sudden drop in temperature, then it probably is the building materials (walls and framework) contracting and expanding with the weather. Even new buildings can do this.

The Alleged “Haunting” of a place that can be explained mostly by the few factors mentioned above,  which can be in connections with EMF, in connected with infrasounds that stuck in a venue which can be negatives energies, and the psychological minds thinking of the beliefs system of each individual person. (especially the venue can be rated as defined as haunted).  And also the nature taking  its own place of atmospheric or physics  quantum on all objects that may vibrates, moved, produced sounds or  misjudged by others.   Other scary sounds may be produced by Humans or Animals, insects or creatures.

We may also be scared or “hairstand” caused by the fear factors not just haunting or ghosts.  Since young we may  absorbed from parents, people – hair raising stories that may be exegerated through communications many channels.  The scary movies, ghost books, tales or myths heard through the years causes a belief system.

Meanwhile, if things happened, they maybe a reason!

Man with bloodied face appears at AMK school

Stompers John and 3B2 said this man with cuts and blood on his face appeared at their school in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 yesterday (Oct 18).
His appearance was said to have shocked students and teachers. However, it is unclear what exactly happened. The man was apparently sent to hospital.

John wrote in his email:
"A spooky man was standing in the rain during the open house of Presbyterian High School on Oct 18.
"It was also seen that he had cuts on his face, which was bleeding.
"Upon being chased out by security of PHS, the guy kneeled down and started praying.
"An ambulance was then called and guy was sent to hospital."
3B2 told Stomp:
"He was saying something like he was reborn and that he wanted a cigarette from our security officer.
"It was really creepy and he even gave some of the teachers a shock with his appearance."
However, what makes this even stranger is that 3B2 had also come across another creepy sight nearby yesterday. He spotted an Annabelle-like doll next to Presbyterian High School.

Ghosthunters ‘saw ghost crawling along road’

Cockenzie House in East Lothian. Picture: Esme Allen

A TEAM of ghosthunters are to return to a haunted Lothians mansion after claiming they spotted a spooky woman with a broken back crawling along a main road.
Lanarkshire Paranormal investigators say they spotted the injured woman – dressed all in black - on her hands and knees as she made her way along a road in Cockenzie, East Lothian.
But after being helped to her feet the ghostly apparition stood up straight, thanked them for their help and then promptly disappeared.
The mysterious encounter came as the ghostbusters visited Cockenzie House, in East Lothian, earlier this year.

And the team have been so impressed with the ghostly goings on at the 17th century mansion they are returning for further investigations next month.

During their last visit, the ghosthunters also say they had other-worldly contact with a man who murdered his wife after his affair was uncovered, heard screams from a young girl and one member received a punch on the arm from an angry spirit named Edward.

In a recent report on the team’s last visit to the spooky home in June, Steff Murdoch-Richards, co-manager of the group, was reported to have gone to the aid of a woman who was crawling on all fours along the main road outside the mansion house.

The report states: “As he helped her up she was very cold and pale and, although she was crawling on the floor in heavy rain, her dress seemed dry and no signs of mud.

“She had no weight to her whatsoever and seemed perfectly fine once she was standing up.
“Within a few moments of walking away, he turned round and she was gone.”

In a video posted on the ghosthunting outfit’s web page, Steff adds: “I started thinking ‘why was she in that position?’

“She was crawling on the floor and it looked like her arms and quite possibly her back had been broken - but there was no sign of that when she stood up.

“And then, obviously, where did she go?”

The spooky encounter came on a night when the investigators had spent several hours in the historic house with guests and encountered a range of paranormal activities.

In the basement, the spirit of a man called Richard who had stabbed his wife Mary after being confronted about having an affair was picked up some members.

While during a séance held during the paranormal team’s visit in July, many people reported hearing a faint scream, while a ghostly presence going by the name of Edward began jabbing people in the ribs and punching one man’s arm.

Several people also reported sensing the presence of a young girl who had severely damaged her legs in a fall, while on the top floor of the property a number of different spirits were sensed.

The paranormal team is returning to Cockenzie House to further investigate the reported phenomena next month.

5 real haunted places in Bali you may not want to visit

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that Bali is the go-to destination for holidaymakers and honeymooners.

Just thinking about Bali conjures up images of beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear water and bikini babes lying in the tropical sun.

But did you know that this gorgeous island actually has a dark side? Shadows lurk in every corner, and those turquoise waves are tainted with stories even the Balinese are too scared to tell.

These are tales that may make your hair stand and your blood curdle in your veins.

Do you dare visit these places?

1. Ghost Palace Hotel

Up in the mountains of Bali on the way to the iconic Bedugal Lake, something is stirring in the fog. It’s a ghost story some two decade in the making, and it’s soaked in skin-crawling horrors…

Ghost Palace Hotel

Some say the Ghost Palace Hotel (also known as PI Bedugul Taman Rekreasi Hotel & Resort), a construction perched on a hillside, was built by Tommy Suharto. Others say it was a crooked developer who tried to curse his rivals out of the way.

If you’re brave enough to explore this place, you’ll likely see the wandering spirits of victims, either laborers crushed in their rush to complete the construction, or competitors cursed to horrible deaths.

Ghost palace hotel 2

This hotel may never have been opened to the public, but who knows if it already has a full house every night?

2. The Abandoned Wreck of Padang Padang

Do you believe in divine retribution?

If you don’t, the true story of an abandoned ship may give you second thoughts…

On a tropical Saturday morning in July of 2008, hours before the start of the famous Rip Curl Padang Cup (Indonesia’s longest-running surfing competition) was due to start, a ghostly shape was spotted on the reef near Padang Padang beach.

smh haunted ship

It was an enormous shipping vessel, the Ho Tsai Fa No. 18, which had run aground on the reef during the night. haunted ship

But what’s most chilling is that her captain and crew were nowhere to be found.

After investigations probed into the ship’s history, it became clear that something bigger was at play.

The ship had been caught illegally fishing in the past, earning profits through underhand means – there were stories of murder, mutiny and lawbreaking.

surfermag hauntedship

The owner was called to take responsibility, but before he could get the ship onto the water and back to its evil ways, assailants unknown came and burnt it to the sea.

The ship might now be gone, but the reef and the beaches of Padang bear the scars of Bali’s karmic retribution, and the ghost of the ship’s sinister past.

They say what goes around, comes around. Care to test the theory?

3. Muaya Beach

A renowned tourist attraction, Muaya Beach is famous for its beautiful white sand, gentle waves and… doll vampires (jenglot) washed up on the shores.

Jenglot are dangerous beasts that resemble a tiny human being – only that they drink blood and can control the actions of their victims, including murder.

Yes, this may not have made it to the national news, but it definitely got tongues wagging in the Muaya Beach community after some joggers discovered two jenglot on the shoreline.

muaya beach

They brought the creatures to the local traditional healer Jero Mangku, who managed to neutralise the power of the jenglot just in time, before the two joggers lost their minds.

Bali Jenglot

What a close call!

4. Balinese Cemeteries (everywhere!)

Bali’s darkest secret is perhaps the one most often concealed from tourists who view Bali as a paradise island.

Trunyan village

Corpses lie in Trunyan’s open-air cemetery in Kintamani, Bali, a village where if the decease body was not buried or burned , but put under the tree after an elaborate funeral ceremonies

And this secret is the presence of Le Ak – an evil witch spirit.

As a child living in Bali, I knew that if you wanted to avoid Le Ak, you had to stay away from Balinese cemeteries.

But one night, I decided to take a shortcut home through a field full moon celebration, and it was a decision I sorely regretted. Under the dim moonlight, I thought I saw a long-haired apparition digging around in the graves.

What happened after that was a complete blank. I remembered running as though my life depended on it (which was really the case), before I came to the refuge of my home.

Le Ak masks, a face I’m well familiar with

Till now, I believe it was the recent blessing I received at the pura (temple) that saved my life.

Or was I simply lucky?

Perhaps. But every time I return to the island, walking near cemeteries still make me shudder. And wait, was it my eyes playing tricks on me, or was there something that just flickered past?

5. Padang Galak Beach

Surfers beware! Padang Galak Beach in Sanur isn’t just a surfer’s heaven, it’s a salty hell.

Beware! There’s more to this beach than meets the eye.

Legends speak of a female sea goddess that haunts the beach, with a wild and angry energy that binds and drowns unsuspecting victims, living up to the beach’s name, which means ‘fierce’ in Indonesian.

padang galak beach

Any local will be happy to regale you with stories of those who have ventured into the waters of Padang Galak looking for the perfect wave, only to disappear below the wild water, never to be seen again.

And that wind that blows along the beach? Some say it’s the screams the surfers manage in their last breath, before the sea goddess drags down to the bottom.

Some time ago, a boy was struck dead by a kite at the beach. Rumours spread that he must have incurred the wrath of the sea goddess, who claimed him for her own…

Still not frightened? For those who are adventurous, we have carefully consolidated a list of these haunted places below on the map, beware and venture at your own risk!!

Granny who texted from beyond the grave:

In life grandmother Lesley Emerson was a prolific texter, never more than an SMS away from her nearest and dearest.
So when she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 59, her family decided to bury her with her mobile phone as a way of commemorating something they loved about her.
To ease their grief they even sent her text messages with all the family news.
But nothing could have prepared them for what was about to happen.

Lesley Emerson was buried with her mobile phone when she died so her family could text her as a way of dealing with their grief. But Sheri Emerson (pictured with her uncle Graham Emerson) received a reply which said: I'm watching over you.'

Three years after Mrs Emerson had passed away in 2011, her granddaughter Sheri’s blood ran cold when she received a return message.
‘I’m watching over you, you’ll get through this, you’ll be all right,’ the text read.
Miss Emerson, 22, a care worker from South Shields, South Tyneside, said: ‘I felt sick when I read it, I was in shock.

‘Obviously we know that Nan wasn’t going to ever reply, it was just something we did as a comfort for ourselves because she loved to text.’
She also received another message which read: ‘I’m watching over you and it’s all going to get better. Just push through.’

So Miss Emerson decided to investigate, and sent a response demanding to know who was responsible.
Eventually she received an apology from a man who had been given Mrs Emerson’s number a few weeks previously when he signed up to mobile operator Giffgaff.
He said he had started to receive texts from unknown phone numbers, and thought they were hoaxes from friends.
To join in the fun, he responded – not realising the upset they were causing.
After Mrs Emerson passed away, her son John said he received assurances from O2 that his mother’s number would never be used again.
Mr Emerson, from Whitburn, South Tyneside, said: ‘We are a big family of texters. If we ever fell out or had something to say, we’d always send a message – that’s why we buried her with her phone.
‘I can’t bear to visit Mum’s graveside. For me it is a way to still feel connected to her. So to think someone else now has our Mam’s number is just awful. We can’t believe O2 has done this.’
O2 said that when a number is disconnected, it is placed in a general pool for reuse and this should’ve been explained.
O2 is now liaising with Giffgaff to try to retrieve the number for the family.
As for the prankster, no one answered the phone yesterday.

Graham rang his mother's phone and spoke to a man who had been using the number for the last few weeks

German Scientists Prove There is Life After Death

Source : Berlin| A team of psychologists and medical doctors associated with the Technische Universität of Berlin, have announced this morning that they had proven by clinical experimentation, the existence of some form of life after death. This astonishing announcement is based on the conclusions of a study using a new type of medically supervised near-death experiences, that allow patients to be clinically dead for almost 20 minutes before being brought back to life. This controversial process that was repeated on 944 volunteers over that last four years, necessitates a complex mixture of drugs including epinephrine and dimethyltryptamine, destined to allow the body to survive the state of clinical death and the reanimation process without damage. The body of the subject was then put into a temporary comatic state induced by a mixture of other drugs which had to be filtered by ozone from his blood during the reanimation process 18 minutes later. The extremely long duration of the experience was only recently made possible by the development of a new cardiopulmonary recitation (CPR) machine called the AutoPulse. This type of equipment has already been used over the last few years, to reanimate people who had been dead for somewhere between 40 minutes to an hour. Near-death experiences have been hypothesized in various medical journals in the past, as having the characteristics of hallucinations, but Dr Ackermann and his team, on the contrary, consider them as evidence for the existence of the afterlife and of a form of dualism between mind and body. Near-death experiences have been hypothesized in various medical journals in the past, as having the characteristics of hallucinations, but Dr Ackermann and his team, on the contrary, consider them as evidence for the existence of the afterlife and of a form of dualism between mind and body. The team of scientists led by Dr Berthold Ackermann, has monitored the operations and have compiled the testimonies of the subjects. Although there are some slight variations from one individual to another, all of the subjects have some memories of their period of clinical death. and a vast majority of them described some very similar sensations. Most common memories include a feeling of detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of an overwhelming light. The scientists say that they are well aware the many of their conclusions could shock a lot of people, like the fact that the religious beliefs of the various subjects seems to have held no incidence at all, on the sensations and experiences that they described at the end of the experiment. Indeed, the volunteers counted in their ranks some members are a variety of Christian churches, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and atheists. “I know our results could disturb the beliefs of many people” says Mr Ackermann. “But in a way, we have just answered one of the greatest questions in the history of mankind, so I hope these people will be able to forgive us. Yes, there is life after death and it looks like this applies to everyone.”

Dinosaur graveyard found in Mexico yields biggest number of specimens ever

Archaeologists from Germany and Mexico have unearthed what they believe is the largest dinosaur cemetery in the world in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

Researchers from the University of Heidelberg, the State Museum of Natural History in Karlsruhe and the Desert Museum in Saltillo, Mexico, have uncovered at least 14 fossils of what they believe to be dinosaurs in a tiny area only 164 feet by 656 feet in size. The researchers also found the bones of at least 15 more specimens only a few miles away.

“I know no other place where so many dinosaurs have been found on such a small area,” said Wolfgang Stinnesbeck from the University of Heidelberg, according to Russia's RIA Novosti.

While the area where the fossils were discovered looks like an inhospitable wasteland at the moment, 70 million years ago the desert landscape was actually a fertile piece of land.

“There was a huge delta here and several rivers were flowing into the Gulf of Mexico,” said paleontologist Eberhard Frey from the University of Heidelberg. “The ecosystem here was vibrant. Apart from dinosaur bones we have found four species of turtles, remains of a small crocodile and teeth of early mammals.”
Frey added that the researchers have found a footprint of a Theropod near the dig site. These dinosaurs were some of the largest predators in the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

“Our findings are very promising, large-scale excavation here would be worthwhile,” Frey said.
Latin America is a hotbed for dinosaur discoveries, although recently most of the major finds have occurred in South American nations like Argentina and Venezuela.

Last month archaeologists announced that the fossilized remains of a colossal creature were discovered in the Patagonia region of Argentina by a team led by Kenneth J. Lacovara, a paleontologist at Drexel University in Philadelphia. The Dreadnoughtus, which means "fear nothing," is the first of this species and most complete ever found of this group of dinosaurs known as titanosaurs.

“What we can say with certainty is this is the biggest land animal that we can actually put a number on,” Lacovara told the New York Times. “We’ve got 16 tons of bone in my lab right now.”

Scientists in Venezuela also recently announced the unearthing of a fox-sized dinosaur that walked on two legs, a relative of both the stegosaurus and triceratops that dates back around 200 million years.
The tiny new dinosaur, named Laquintasaura venezuelae or Greek for "lizard of La Quinta," also provides evidence that some creatures lived in herds and were able to survive in regions once thought too inhospitable for the dinosaurs.
